The LCTF Vasculitis Symposium

The Lauren Currie Twilight Foundation Vasculitis Symposium was held on Friday 28th September at the BSPAR 2012 Conference in Edinburgh.  The event was attended by UK Rheumatologists over a two day programme.  LCTF sponsored the symposium as part of our Vasculitis educational and guidance projects to health professionals.

The symposium had three excellent and respected speakers.  Dr Paul Brogan from Great Ormond Street Hospital discussed Vasculitis in the young.  Dr Derek Roebuck from Great Ormond Street Hospital also discussed Imagining Paediatric Vasculitis through scan and X-ray results.  Our final speaker was Professor Raashid Luqmani discussing the lessons from adult Vasculitis. The symposium was attended by around 300 health professionals seeking more details.  LCTF also supported the event with an exhibition stand where health professionals could discuss the additional patient support services we offer with charity representatives.

The foundation launched a dedicated media guidance channel to Vasculitis on this website under Vasculitis TV (www.vasculitis.tv).  The channel is now a leading source of updated guidance material involving webcasts, interviews with patients and health professionals.  The channel now features footage from dedicated symposiums on Vasculitis and new programmes are being added frequently.

The channel has received positive feedback from both patients and health professionals as a trusted source of guidance.  Vasculitis TV through LCTF provides a free source of information that is produced to high professional standards  and accessible from web enabled computers, mobile phones and tablets.
