Vasculitis Research Commences 1st October 2012

Vasculitis research funded by the Lauren Currie Twilight Foundation through the University of Aberdeen will commence on 1st October. The 3 year research will focus on video microscopy of immune cell interactions with endothelium to facilitate the development of new therapies in Vasculitis. LCTF are funding a dedicated research PHd student to work on the project over the 3 year period.

The Vasculitis TV page on this website will provide periodic webcasts with the research team to update supporters on the funded research through LCTF. An introductory interview with the researcher with more details on the research will follow shortly.  Published papers on the research will also be available through the website at the end of the project.

The LCT Foundation is delighted that the first research project funded by Lauren’s foundation is underway. Lauren died at the age of 15 from Wegeners Granulomatosis.  The foundation set up in her memory funds projects that will research Vasculitis causes and improved treatments.
Thank you to everyone who has supported the foundation to get us to this point and has helped with funding of these services. We look forward to building and funding further awareness, education, research and support projects.
