Ultra – Worlds Most Challenging Marathon

In under two weeks, Jamie Flanagan will run the Ultra Marathon from the 4th-7th February. The Ultra is the world’s most challenging marathon spanning 160 mile non stop footrace across the Egyptian White desert.  Running a 160 mile marathon is challenging enough but to complete this in 96 hours while enduring the heat of the Egyptian desert is truly amazing.

Jamie is running the Ultra for The Lauren Currie Twilight Foundation to support Vasculitis.  Jamie will be running the Ultra and other running events throughout 2013 to help raise funds for our Vasculitis work. Jamie has Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (Wegeners) so this takes this challenge to a whole new level. Jamie was a professional musician until Vasculitis robbed him of his hearing.  We think he is an inspirational young man who has dedicated his time and running to helping Lauren’s charity and other Vasculitis organisations through fundriaising and awareness.

Please visit Jamie’s page and give him your support.
