Register To Help With Research

If you are a patient in Scotland then take some time to read about SHARE. It is an NHS Health Research Register for patients living in Scotland that wish to be considered for research studies. The charity has recently funded a couple of Vasculitis research studies in Scotland and it is so important that researchers have a register of patients prepared to help in studies throughout Scotland.

The Lauren Currie Twilight Foundation currently fund a dedicated ANCA vasculitis research study which will involve patients with Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (Churg Strauss), Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (Wegener’s Granulomatosis) and Microscopic Polyangiitis.  The charity have also agreed funding for a wellbeing study on Vasculitis patients which involves all variants of Vasculitis and will commence late 2013/early 2014.  This will seek to provide evidence on areas for support and lead to new service provisions that will improve patient care.

Our charity have also supported Great Ormond Street Hospital on a new drug trial study that supports children with Polyarteritis Nodosa.  This will lead to new effective treatments with less toxic side effects and improve the quality of life for so many.
