Give Vasculitis The Boot – Our 2014 Awareness Campaign

With the month of May being Awareness Month for Vasculitis then we wanted to look at a campaign that would be hard hitting, like a boot, and get the public asking questions.  At the Lauren Currie Twilight Foundation we are not shy at awareness.  The charity has four events already scheduled ranging from 5k fun runs, 150ft abseils and our black tie annual ball to raise awareness with the public and help fund our work.  Our awareness radio campaign has also reached out to over 680,000 listeners earlier in 2014. With 3,000 cases of vasculitis diagnosed annually and premature deaths with the disease due to late diagnosis then awareness needs to step up to meet the challenge.

Give The Boot to Vasculitis was a campaign designed by Adrienne Currie, Lauren’s mum and trustee of her charity.  The campaign provides fundraising materials for supporters to kick off their boots and raise funds for the charity while having fun.  The fundraising pack includes posters, pop-up fundraising boxes, pens, wristbands and a list of ideas.  The campaign also brings new merchandising to our online shop with a new t-shirt design and baseball boot keyrings.  Lauren loved her converse boots, especially in purple, so the whole campaign is not only geared around vasculitis but remains in the memory of our inspiration who lost her battle at the age of 15.

Social media is also a great awareness method and a range of images have been created for supporters to share so exposure for vasculitis and the campaign is widened.  Profile images are available for Twitter and Facebook and we ask supporters to download the pack and share!  Our new merchandise will also be available at the Glasgow & Aberdeen 5k – pop along and see the great new materials available.
