Classification of Vasculitis – Updated 2012

The Chapel Hill Classification is probably the best illustration of the variants of Vasculitis and how they are classified by the type and size of vessel that they affect.  The document was updated in 2012 and it is an important document used by health professionals and in patient groups to better understand the disease.  For patients facing Vasculitis and obtaining a diagnosis then it is a good guide to understanding the variants, how they are classified and how it can affect you.

The variants of Vasculitis are listed on the illustration from large vessel to small vessel variants.  The charity provides factsheets on each variant of Vasculitis in our Patient Support Centre within this website.  The factsheets are written by health professionals/medical authors and peer reviewed by experts with an extensive experience in treating Vasculitis patients. You can obtain these factsheets in print and electronic format.
