Awareness Event Success

Our 2014 5k fun runs in Glasgow and Aberdeen have been a great success for fundraising and awareness.  Real Radio (or Heart FM) and Northsound FM supported the charity and our 5k events with vasculitis  commercials to over 700,000 listeners.  Over 200 walkers and runners participated in our 5k route at Bellahouston park in Glasgow and at Duthie park in Aberdeen.  Over £14,000 has been raised so far from these events.  The funds that have been raised  will help Lauren’s charity to continue funding dedicated scientific research at the University of Aberdeen, and in funding effective awareness campaigns through mainstream media that encourage  earlier diagnosis.  Our events also support the charity in continuing to deliver leading patient support services through our bespoke online patient portal.

The Aberdeen vasculitis clinic has also experienced a 10% increase in GP referrals.  This is  the latest indication that our awareness events and radio campaign have been an overwhelming success in heightening the profile of the disease.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the 5k and helped us to raise this amazing sum – without you there, it would not be a success.
