The annual vasculitis 5k in Aberdeen in aid of The Lauren Currie Twilight Foundation was held on Saturday 29th August 2015. 117 runners and walkers registered to take part so they could support vasculitis awareness and help to fund the research at the University of Aberdeen via The Lauren Currie Twilight Foundation.

The event was organised on behalf of the charity by Johanna Hepburn, Research Nurse at the Aberdeen Vasculitis Clinic.  The charity was soon overwhelmed by registrations to take part in the 5k walk or run along the beach esplanade.

The Lauren Currie Twilight Foundation is a leading Vasculitis charity that has donated £62,000 to research studies based at the University of Aberdeen.  The charity also holds quarterly patient support groups in the city where patients can get advice and guidance. It is encouraging when an event brings consultants, researchers, research nurses, patients and our charity volunteers together to raise awareness and funds for vasculitis.

The Lauren Currie Twilight Foundation is back in Aberdeen in October where it will sponsor the Scottish Society of Rheumatology Conference which is focused on vasculitis.
