Aberdeen Support

The Lauren Currie Twilight Foundation has already launched a fully funded support group in Glasgow and we are due to do the same in Aberdeen on Saturday 3rd March at 1pm at the Caledonia Thistle Hotel in Union Terrace – located in the heart of Aberdeen .  Support groups are made up of people with common interests and experiences of Vasculitis. People who have been through, or are going through, a similar circumstance can do more than sympathize with you — they can relate to what you are going through and keep you from feeling like you are alone. Maureen McBain and Debbie Ley have both been diagnosed with Wegener’s Granulomatosis (GPA) and have a wealth of experience to offer in support.  Maureen and Debbie got in touch with each other for support years earlier and are now great friends.  Maureen and Debbie are based in Aberdeen and will support and coordinate the LCTF support groups.

Our guest speaker is Dr Neil Basu, Clinical Research Fellow at the Institite of Medical Sciences in Aberdeen. Dr Basu’s work focuses on Systemic Vasculitis and fatigue associated with the condition. Grant Currie will also provide an insight into the work of LCTF and the support and investment into Vasculitis.  Buffet lunch and tea/coffee is supplied at the meeting.
