Dr Hilary Joins LCTF

The Lauren Currie Twilight Foundation is delighted to announce that Dr Hilary Jones will join The Lauren Currie Twilight Foundation as patron in December 2012.

Dr Hilary Jones became a Principal in General practice in the early 1980’s and began presenting educational medical programmes in 1986.  In 1989 Dr Hilary joined the most successful breakfast station ever, TVAM. He and Lorraine Kelly were the first presenters to be signed up by GMTV when it won the breakfast franchise in 1993.  Dr Hilary continues to be the Health Editor on ITV Daybreak, ITVs’ new breakfast show format. Dr Hilary is  patron for other UK charities such as The Meningitis Research Foundation and Diabetes UK.

Dr Hilary supported Lauren’s Foundation in early 2012 when he joined our Early Diagnosis webinar.  The webinar was a live online event broadcast to an audience of Vasculitis patients and health professionals to promote diagnosis of Vasculitis.  The online discussion focused on Lauren’s journey with Vasculitis.  Dr Hilary worked with LCTF again in June 2012 when he presented our Vasculitis Awareness DVD.  The short film was produced and distributed to health professionals during awareness events held by LCTF to encourage GPs to recognosise the symptoms of Vasculitis conditions.

Dr Hilary will support LCTF on our ongoing UK awareness of Vasculitis to the general public and health professionals.  Dr Hilary will also help to promote awareness of Lauren’s charity and the vital patient support services, guidance media and research funding that it provides throughout the UK.   You can view our webinar and awareness video by visiting the Vasculitis TV page on this website or click here.
